Claims
We do the paperwork for your family

- Certified ID of the claimant, both sides
- Certified ID of the deceased, both sides
- Bank statement, not older than 3 months
- BI/DHA-1680 if the death was at home
- Police report if the death was unnatural

Claims must be submitted within 6 months of the death. No claim is paid while premiums are in arrears past the 30-day grace period.

Good to know
Who can join?
The main member must be between 18 and 65. Up to 13 more people can join, depending on the plan size. Only the people declared at sign-up are covered.
When must I pay?
Monthly, on or before the 1st, or on your debit order date. There is a 30-day grace period. After that the policy lapses.
Do I have to fill in the insurer's claim form?
No. Rest Assured completes the claim on your behalf from your WhatsApp answers and sends it to the underwriter, Safrican. You may be asked to sign.
Are grandchildren covered?
Grandchildren and foster children are covered only with proof of legal adoption.
Can I cancel?
Yes, with one month's written notice. The plan has no cash or surrender value.
Is my information safe?
We use your details only to administer your policy and claims, as POPIA requires. You can ask to see or correct them at any time.
